The Thang:

F3 Ultimate is much like ultimate frisbee, but with the following added rules.

  • On a turnover, everyone does penalty exercises
    • We did 5 merkins for a while, then switched to 5 burpees, then 5 squats
  • When one team scores, they do flutter kicks while the other team power skips to the other side to receive the throw off.
    • If a team gets scored on 2 times in a row, the power skips becomes a bear crawl
    • If a team gets scored on 3 times in a row, the bear crawl becomes a crab walk

With 13, Reggie played full time offense, and even with the slight advantage to the offense, there were plenty of turnovers. Skins won 4-3, but not without drama.

On the final possession, Tofu (Shirts team) ran a wonderful corner route with the nearest defender struggling behind and YHC tossed a short floater to try to let him run on to it. Time slowed to a still as he dove and inched ever closer to the disc. Everyone watched with baited breath to see the outcome, but alas, it fell to the grass just out of his reach.

CoT:

Shared a tidbit on how we focus so much at F3 on our fitness, but should be careful not to make our physical fitness/ability into an idol. Was thinking about this during the interview portion of this episode of the Holy Post Podcast: The Holy Post: Episode 518: Christian Nationalism Round-Up & Disability Justice with Amy Kenny on Apple Podcasts (interview starts at 49:51). Amy Kenny shares about how she takes comfort in seeing that the resurrected Jesus still has wounds, and that challenges what we may think about our relationships to our bodies and their abilities.

Naked Man Moleskin:

All ACLs intact.
