Downrange:
It’s Monday. Which means if you’re able to get out of the bed early enough for an F3 beatdown after a long and physically and/or mentally straining weekend, you’re doing alright.
However Monday’s also mean that the body is likely tight, dehydrated, and out of sorts from two days of non-routine living. That means its time to stretch and to loosen the body up.
YHC is a fan of stretching. As YHC has gotten older, he’s picked up his 2.0s incorrectly and he continues to sit at his desk for period of time that are too long. Stretching is good. Stretching is healthy and prevents injuries.
Therefore, today’s warm up was a nice loooooooong stretch of hips, and ankles, and knees, and back.
The Thang:
The Thang was simple. We ran from The Rig to Grant Park and then we ran around Grant Park. Approximately 5km / 3.1 miles distance. Periodically we stopped and pulled from a deck of cards for exercises. PAX landed on Burpees, Peter Parkers, Jump Squats, and something the YHC cannot remember. For note – YHC has a hard time remembering the movements defined on HIS deck of cards. SMH. At the Erskine fountain, the PAX performed a set of 7s (instead of 11s) of wall jumps and Irkins.
CoT:
- vertigo and wife are mentoring a neighbor. Pray for flexibility, patience, and relationship-building over metrics and quantitative progress
- Jumbo has friends who are going through marital issues. Pray for reconciliation and that the Jumbo family also be able to build deep relationships.
Naked Man Moleskin:
Thankful for SWAG and how he calls the PAX attention to some deeper topics shared by individuals throughout the beatdown. SWAG drives 3rdF!
