Warm up:
Pax, gather ’round, because I’ve got a story to tell! Say Less referred a Friendly New Guy (FNG), and this morning’s F3 workout was sweat, sleds, and straw. My physical therapist gave me the green light for burpees, so they are back in the rotation for Purple Cow led beatdowns.
Park security opened the gates at 6:30 this morning so I had little time to set up the workout. We kicked things off with a rifle carry coupon parade to the field.
SSH, Navy Seal Burpees, Imperial Walkers, and Mountain Climbers.
The Thang:
Finally got a chance to put that plastic sled collecting dust in the garage to use. Shout out to Costco for the sled and my kids for the test run through our living room last night. We may have snowless winters in ATL, but the sled now has a new lease on life, and it isn’t child’s play.
We loaded up the sled with two coupons and a 40-pound vest for a Dora.
- Partner 1 fired up those quads with a reverse sled walk about 20 yards and back
- Partner 2 pumped out 25 overhead coupon presses and held a plank until Partner 1 returned.
Next up Tabata time (20secs on /10 seconds off)
Eight rounds of each: Burpees, Coupon Bridges, Curls for the Girls, Wall Sits, and Mountain Climbers.
We Farmer Carried 2 coupons each back to their starting point. But we weren’t done! We moseyed back to the field for the grand finale.
“Bring Sally Up” abs! On the up, heels to heaven and on the down, we held our legs six inches above the ground. Brutal.
CoT:
Finally, we “circled” up for the Circle of Trust, where I reiterated the 5 core principles: (1) free of charge (2) open to all men (3) held outdoors, rain or shine (4) peer led (5) ends with a Circle of Trust. We wrapped promptly at 7:30 a.m. Great workout, great fellowship afterwards, and FNG and I are grabbing lunch later this week.
And so, dear Pax, another F3 adventure concluded – a tale of sleds, coupons, and our third FNG at the #Enterprise. Until next time. #BodlyGo!
