Yesterday forecast called for rain & storms, knowing that a core principle is Rain or Shine, YHC put the call on slack and 4 HIM answered with a HC. YHC didn’t need an alarm this morning as the lightning and rumble of thunder was the alarm. Soon slack also lit up with confirmation of our meetup based on the weather. Modify as needed being another value was demonstrated as parking deck meetup was decided. Half the group parked at the Terminus usual spot and the others parked directly in Piedmont Park/botanical gardens parking deck. Good news is that 8 total with a down-range PAX, Oh-Shag-Henessey, from Churham, including YHC, made it out for today’s beatdown.

Warm up:

  • 10th street parking group moseyed to the parking deck
  • Parking deck group started with SSH and Don Quixote
  • As the two groups met we continued with Don Quixotes, Merkins, Planks, and a shoulder focused set without rest/recover of the following (arm circles forward/reverse, Overhead claps, Seal claps, overhead press)

The Thang:

Our rain or shine rounds was modified to start at bottom of parking deck with exercises that build each round with a run up the parking deck levels between each round (wait for PAX prior to beginning next round)

 

  • ROUND 1 – 5 burpees, parking deck level run
  • ROUND 2 – 5 burpees, 10 merkins, parking deck level run
  • ROUND 3 – 5 burpees, 10 merkins, 15 LBCs, parking deck level run
  • ROUND 4 – 5 burpees, 10 merkins, 15 LBCs, 20 Stone Mountain Pushup (SMP), parking deck level run
  • ROUND 5 – 5 burpees, 10 merkins, 15 LBCs, 20 SMP, 25 squats, parking deck level run
  • ROUND 6 – 5 burpees, 10 merkins, 15 LBCs, 20 SMP, 25 squats, 30sec elbow plank, parking deck level run
  • ROUND 7 – 5 burpees, 10 merkins, 15 LBCs, 20 SMP, 25 squats, 30sec elbow plank, 35 American Hammer, parking deck level run
  • ROUND 8 – 5 burpees, 10 merkins, 15 LBCs, 20 SMP, 25 squats, 30sece elbow plank, 35 American Hammer, 40 shoulder presses in Al Gore, parking deck level run

At this point we made it all the way up to the top of the parking deck and took the stairs down to lower level. Wrapped up our time with  People’s Chair while the PAX rotated 10 counts (let’s just say that some PAX are better at counting than others – yep, I’m talking about you Gronkins and Smalls).

CoT:

Gronkins and YHC shared about impact of brotherhood and Q-source material from this week’s 3rdF Q-source discussion on Groups. Being intentional about being there for each other and making an impact is one of the most meaningful things to YHC and others at F3. Soft Hands shared encouraged us to run the race – John 20:4 (did the beloved disciple hit a PR???). YHC closed out in prayer. Happy Easter!

Shout out to Soft Hands and Gronkins for driving the 10th street parking group back to 10th and props to Gronkins for paying for both cars! Soft Hands said the Round 8 addition – Shoulder Press Al Gore – is his favorite wedding dance move. Maybe it needs a new name…maybe this is Soft Hands wedding dance move inspiration video? Regardless, maybe some new exercise inspiration?
