Q School made it to Pulpit. Check out the Pulpit Slack Channel for Q School doc Q101 for more details. Whether you’ve never Q’d or if you’ve done 50 spending time focusing on what we do and why we do it is a worthwhile endeavor. Good work PAX!
Intro to Q School was given. Reviewed planning a workout, starting on time, using command voice, bringing a phone for safety (or having a PAX bring one), and never leave a man behind.
Warm up:
The structure of a proper count was reviewed and practiced.
SSH, Merkins, and Low Slow Squat were done. Then PAX that had not Q’d rotated through a few other exercises practicing newly learned skills: weed pickers, don quixote. Short mosey.
The Thang:
String of Pearls was the theme of Q School to demonstrate moving the PAX a short distance and then performing an activity.
Pearl 1:
Pull-ups – divided the PAX into 3 groups and rotated 1 PAX from each group performing 5 strict pull-ups while others did the following. Move to next round after all PAX in group performed pull-ups.
– Round 1 Jumping Squats + pull-ups
– Round 2 Bonnie Blairs + pull-ups
– Round 3 Bear Squats + pull-ups
Pearl 2:
– Mosey to Sutton Middle Stairs for 11’s
– Lunges at bottom (double-count) and Diamond Merkins at top
– Lunge walk in parking lot for extra credit until all PAX complete
Pearl 3:
– Partner Catch Me if You Can on field
– Partner up: Partner 1 bear crawl from end zone towards opposite end zone with Partner 2 performed 5 burpees then run to Partner 1 to swap (complete length of field)
Mosey back to start due to time
CoT:
Discussed purpose of CoT. YHC shared about helping people to embrace change and focus on positive reinforcement vs. only trying to stop negative behavior (and giving grace to yourself and others). Spike announced beatdown at Atlanta Mission Friday at 5:30 a.m. (all men welcome) and prayers accompanying young group of middle schoolers from NUMC confirmation. Soft Hands shared about
& needs 2 more volunteers this Saturday morning (check out 3rd_F channel for details).
