Downrange:
A hint of Christmas magic hung over the air in Piedmont Park as I stepped out of my sleigh this morning for my Q. It must have been due to the arrival of Buttercup’s FNG, Griswold. A mighty fine disclaimer was given and the core principles were shared, and we commenced.
Warm up:
SSH, Weed Pickers, Imperial Walkers, Plank, 10 Merkins OYO, and then launched a mosey.
The Thang:
We made our way over to the North Pole of the Active Oval with a few stops for hot chocolate and planks.
Once we arrived at our destination, YHC brought out of my gift bag all the treats of the day: a speaker, playlist, and jump ropes. We paired off and I launched the playlist, as two pax began running to the nearby stairs. Unfortunately, there was very soon a plot twist. The playlist began playing but then stopped. We relaunched, and again it stopped. Christmas hung in the balance! YHC had to make a hasty decision. The show must go on. We’ll go music-less for now, and the pax will just turn the exercises into a circuit.
We went on like this for squats and merkins, but then, A Christmas miracle occurred! I realized my Apple Music app probably just needed to access the cell data to know that I wasn’t still playing the playlist elsewhere! 5 seconds later, This Christmas was playing and Christmas was saved! We proceeded as planned.

CoT:
Grizwold was named due to being an electrician posting first at a Christmas-y workout.
Prayers for Gates’ cousin Clint, Griswold’s family in continuing to adjust after a recent family loss, and for my mom as she again has a biopsy in two weeks.
YHC shared the reminder from Bob Chapman’s Everybody Matters:
- While attending a church service, he realized that the rector he so greatly admired and appreciated had 1 hour a week with which to inspire his congregation, but that the Barry-Wehmiller employees were in his company for 40 hours a week, resulting in a far greater opportunity to influence and inspire the employees.
Let us remember that our relationships with our family and our coworkers share this same possibility. Be the bacon.
