The Thang:
First we had 3 Pax that had not yet figured out their RPG-inspired ‘class’ yet. We mozey’d to the ‘Great Gingerbread Tree’ and each of them did two laps of frog jumps while rifle carrying the inflatable d20 die. Two of them ended up becoming Paladins and one was our first Bard! After each class was discovered, the rest of us Pax would perform the workout of that class. Below is the class to workout chart
- Barbarian – Burpee
- Bard – Smurf Jacks
- Cleric – Prayer Squat
- Druid – Crab Walk
- Wizard – Merkin
- Monk – WW1 Situp
- Paladin – 8-count Body Builder
- Ranger – “Sprint Gore” . You Sprint to a tree and hold Al Gore
- Rogue – Bear Crawl
- Sorcerer – Diamond Merkin
After completing that, we mozey’d to a nearby soccer field and played Bear Crawl vs Crab Walk Soccer. I brought flags and a ball to use.
- Teams would swap exercises with each goal.
- We also would have a rotating member of each team frog jump around the perimeter of the field and then swap with a teammate.
- As a way to disincentivize kicking the ball hard out of bounds (and waste time retrieving it), anyone who kicked the ball out of bounds had to to 10 merkins before returning to play.
- As an added twist to the workout, we all did in cadence workout of the exercise of the class of the goal scorer.
It was a close game at first being 1-1, but then ended up being 3-1 to finish.’
We returned back to the flag and finished up with the Monk’s workout of WW1 Situp.
