  • Event 1: Merkins – AMRAP 1 minute
  • Event 2: Big Boy Sit Ups – AMRAP 1 minute
  • Event 3: Chin ups – AMRAP untimed (but you’re done when you let go/stop hanging)
  • Event 4: 1.5 mile run

The website above includes the scoring charts, which factor in age. Here’s our results:

COT:

For words of inspiration today, YHC shared about the Holy Club which started at Oxford University in 1729. It included John and Charles Wesley (forefathers of the Methodist tradition) and several others noted as leaders in Christian traditions. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holy_Club)

I was attracted to their lifestyle for their relentless pursuit of acceleration. They had a list of 22 questions they used to examine their lives on a regular basis (https://www.umcdiscipleship.org/resources/everyday-disciples-john-wesleys-22-questions), and regularly met together and encouraged each other in disciplines of their religion.

As I thought about their lives this week, I’ve been challenged by the type of relationships that these brothers shared, in three particular ways.

(1) They explicitly gave each other PERMISSION to hold them accountable,
(2) they created structures to make sure that those brothers had enough ACCESS to their life to hold them accountable, and
(3) they took OWNERSHIP for their brothers’ acceleration.

Who are those men in your life? If you don’t have any, what is ONE STEP you can take today to start to cultivate those relationships?

As a side note, it’s also said that the men in the Holy Club didn’t consider themselves to have been born again until later in life (https://maninthemirror.org/2005/02/14/lessons-from-oxfords-holy-club/). Let this be a reminder that acceleration in and of itself is not enough. Grace is critical in the process of becoming the man you were meant to be.

Announcements:

  • We need Qs! Only one other March date is currently claimed. Get on it!

Naked Man Moleskine:

It feels like February has taken a toll on some of our most consistent Pax. Let’s rally together and find ways to help each other stay on the path to accelerate our leadership!
