YHC put out the call for confirmation the night before and the NOs started to roll in, but then YHC’s faith was restored as Fireballs and Chaingang both answered in the affirmative. There would be no solo run on Friday. And then, as if this predawn excursion had a chance of getting better, out of the gloom, Scout materialized, fresh from his “Warm Up” miles.

Warm up:

Do you really need Warm up? Too cool to stand around, and with that, we were off.

The Thang:

A stroll around Dunwoody, up to the border with Sandy Springs and along the Western Edge. We headed straight north up Roberts to Spalding where we hung a left and headed towards 400. Imagine my surprise, when we got to Spalding and Roberts to find that Spalding was open. YHC was so excited, I forgot we were supposed to turn, oh well, we will make up for it in other ways. We continued on to the backside of the Branches, specifically the Twin Branches entrance. We headed South on Twin Branches to the round about and then hung a left on Hunters Branch Ln and then another Left on Winding Branch Cir. We headed up the hill and down around the backside of the Branches Club and then took a left on Hidden Branches Ln followed by a Left on Hidden Branches Cir. We followed this up, down and up again and finally around to Trailrdige Way where we headed South up the last hill of the day to Mt Vernon. A Left on MV and a left on Nandina, and you guessed it, a left on Chamblee Dunwoody, before rolling straight on back to the Shroom. Just over 5 by the time we were finished, and home in under 48 minutes.  Just over 300 feet of elevation gained.

CoT:

Fireballs took us out. YHC added a last minute prayer request for Rabbi Murray Berger on the loss of his wife of 60+ years, Roberta (Bobbi) Berger, who succumbed to cancer this week.

Naked Man Moleskin:

Apparently, YHC has been removed from the Fireball’s Holiday card list, after today’s grind. Funny, I don’t remember ever actually being on the list, but I digress.

Additionally, if you wondered if it is possible to run around Dunwoody for 5 plus miles, make only left turns, and still get back to your starting place, it is.
