Downrange:
Warm up:
It was a classic warmup. 20 or so side straddle hops, some Don Quixote, Imperial Walkers, Hillbillies and then some Merkins into Mtn Climbers and little baby arm circles to get everyone’s shoulders ready for the beatdown.
The Thang:
First stop was the first stone circle off of the meadow. We immediately hit 10 burpees to warm up (it wasn’t Saturday-level cold, but it was still chilly). After our heartbeats shot up a bit, we moved into a set of 11’s — box jumps and dips — a fan-favorite for this Terminus location.
Mosey over to the stone circle before the bridge for our first shoulders / arms pump. In cadence and in a circle, 10 PAX performed 20 Stone Mtn Pushups (4-count style), 10 merkins (4-count) and 15 elbow updowns. Elbow Updowns on the concrete added another dimension of pain to the exercise.
No time to stop and breathe (YHC had plans for two more pearls in the beatdown), so we moseyed over to the bridge above the rock pile. Commence the DORA. Bearcrawl to the first light and back while your partner does 50 burpees, 100 4-count Michael Phelps and 200 Ray Lewis (squatting overhead-claps). YHC modified the bearcrawl to a down and mosey back to speed things up (he still had another stop on the agenda).
It was out of YHC’s hands, though. The bearcrawl DORA he dreamt up took up too much time. The rock pile would have to wait for next time. PAX moseyed back to the stone circle before the bridge over the pond for another set of 20 Stone Mtn Pushups, 10 Merkins and 15 elbow updowns.
Mosey back to the flag for a perfect finish at 6:15 AM.
CoT:
We welcomed Cutco to the Terminus AO (he works in sales for a kitchen/bath supply company). We also learned that our very own Credit used to sell Cutco knives door-to-door. He can give you the key selling points if you’re in the market.
Reminder that the Tavern run-group is meeting at 6 AM on Fridays for a 5-mile run. Same meeting point as Terminus.
YHC mentioned a book he’s reading (the Gap and the Gain). It’s an easy read about how to shift your perspective from a negative or anxious view of where you are and where your future ideal-state is and instead thinking about where you are and how far you’ve come.
