Back in a time before “The Rona” Smalls planted the idea of a Convergence, and finally, with the help of the ATL SLT, we were able to bring it back to a reality. The call was put out, to AOs across the region, it was circulated, it was loud and it resonated, just as F3 does across this country and beyond. After a small group did a Pre-Run/Pre-Ruck, 0700 struck and Smalls rallied the troops to the meadow, where Reggie was handed the reigns.
Warm up:
After the intro, the tenants of F3 and a quick welcome, Reggie wasted no time getting down to business:
- Burpees (x10/OYO)
- SSH (x15/IC)
- Merkins (x10/IC)
- Off-Count Squats (x15/IC)
- Arm Circles (Forwards and Backwards – Small to Large – OYO)
- Seal Claps (x15/IC)
- Ray Lewis (x10/IC)
- SSH (x15/IC)
After this we split up into 4 groups (stations), led by GreenBean, Gronkins, YHC (Manhole) and Smokey and dispersed to different parts of the park.
The Thang:
The PAX rotated through each of the 4 stations as a group
CoT:
The words were delivered by Smalls, in honor and memory of his father, who would have been 59 today.
The words were about owning our place in the community, not in spite of it, but because of it, and how we can be stronger than we are today, if we embrace the community and look to enhance that community for the betterment of not only ourselves, but those who we have not yet touched, but are out there, and need us, as much as we need them, living “interdependently” and living 3rd.
Naked Man Moleskin:
Special shoutout to Weber for Donuts, Martina for Coffee, Buttercup for photos, and Reggie for being a great regional leader by example of how to walk the walk, and talk the talk.
As mentioned at the top, 58 joined in the fun, from all over. It was awesome to share this day, not only with the brothers we see everyday, and also those that we see on Twitter and Slack from other Regions.
